Abstract

Although some authors have already estimated the influence of a number of nanometals in the presence of humic acids on microorganisms, algae, fish, the effects of interaction between humic acids and plant organisms are still not completely clear. In the work we investigated the morpho-physiological changes of the two species Tríticum aestívum and Hordéum vulgáre under the influence of commercial humic acids with nanodispersed metal particles (Fe3O4, Mo, SiO2). Improvement of germination of seeds of both plant species (Tríticum aestivum and Hordéum vulgare) was noted after treatment with 10-4 mg/l NP SiO2 – by 14% and 20%, respectively. In contrast, the decrease in germination was recorded after exposure to 5×10-2 mg/l of Fe3O4 – 13% in the case of Tríticum aestivum and 32% (to control) for Hordéum vulgáre plants. In general, Hordéum vulgáre plants were less sensitive to the effects of Mo and Fe3O4, in contrast to Tríticum aestivum. Increase in the mass of roots of Tríticum aestivum was observed in comparison with plants after treatment with humic acids when exposed to 10-4 mg/l SiO2, 10-3 mg/l Mo and 10-2 mg/l Fe3O4. Probably, stimulating effect of nano-silica SiO2 in the dilution of 10-4 mg/l is due to the enrichment of nanoparticles by a number of branched functional groups of humic and fulvic acids contained in the biohumus preparation.
