Abstract
There has been established the dependence of plant responses to a short-term (2 h) daily temperature drop (DROP) on the relative air humidity (RH) and substrate water content. Under high RH DROP treatments increase plant compactness, but under low RH their effects are leveled. It is shown that DROP treatments are more effective than «periodic drought» for plant height control as an alternative to the use of plant growth retardants.
