Abstract
Dehydrins (Dhn) from common pine (xerophyte) and Siberian spruce (mesophyte) needles were compared. In different year periods pine contained 1-2 Dhn more than spruce. With the onset of the cold season there was an increase in the content of Dhn of different molecular masses, but these proteins were not "unique" for each species. Weak differences in the Dhn polymorphism speak in favor that for pine and spruce the fitness for certain environment is not determined by the variety of Dhn in the needles.
