Abstract
Non-invasive spectroscopy was used to determine optical indices associated with activity of photosynthetic apparatus and to study their relation to grain productivity of spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) at two levels of nitrogen nutrition. It was found that the studied parameters can be reliable criteria for phenotyping on nitrogen use efficiency and responsiveness to its application, and can also be used in assessing genotype-environment interactions.
