Abstract
Gene orders in complete mitochondrial genomes of amphipods are one of the most variable among the Crustacea and Arthropoda. Gene order patterns in the Baikalian species have an especially high level of such variability, they do not show fully identical gene orders even in one family (for example, Eulimnogammaridae), having also new unique gene orders in some families that are not even similar to each other [Romanova, 2016]. To value changes that happened to mitochondrial genomes in these species and its direction step by step, we analyzed pairs of different combinations of 13 complete mitogenomes of Baikalian and 5 non-Baikalian species of amphipods – a 18 complete mitogenomes of amphipods.
