Abstract
The influence of tebuconazole-based seeds protectant "Bunker" (1,5 microliter per gram of seeds, µl/g) and tebuconazole (1 mM) on the energetic parameters of mitochondria isolated from shoots of non-hardened and cold-hardened (2 °C, 7 days) etiolated winter wheat seedlings (Triticum aestivum L., variety Irkutskaya) has been studied. It is shown that under standard conditions (24 °C) tebuconazole significantly reduces the rate of malate oxidation by inhibiting the cytochrome pathway (CP) of mitochondrial respiration. While the tebuconazole-based protectant "Bunker" suppresses both the CP and alternative pathway (AP). Tebuconazole and the tebuconazole-based protectant cause an increase in the oxidative activity of mitochondria from the cold-hardened plants, which is due to an increase in the contribution of AP mainly to the oxidation of malate.
