Abstract
Using transmission electron microscopy, a comparative analysis of callus structure of the barley hybrid line Duet x Bios cultivated on nutrient media containing aluminum ions under standard conditions was carried out. At the ultrastructural level, the target of the aluminum toxicity on barley cells is vacuoles. As the concentration of aluminum increases, the vacuoles change the structure from numerous small, sometimes filled with different inclusions, to large vacuoles with the light or dense globular inclusion and / or having a tightly adherent to the tonoplast. It can be assumed that the accumulation of aluminum does not prevent the synthesis of tonoplasts.
