Abstract
The data on the composition and content of basic sterols in the tissues of isolated mitochondria Larix sibirica Ledeb were obtained for the first time. It is established that the composition of fatty acids of mitochondria of L. sibirica differs from the tissue composition of FAME of the needles of this species, mainly by the content of unsaturated fatty acids. Thus, significant differences were found in the content of unsaturated polymethylene-interrupted fatty acids (Δ-5 FA), characteristic of coniferous and other evolutionarily ancient taxa. In mitochondria, such acids are almost 2 times greater than in the total fraction of lipids. The total content of sterols in the mitochondrial fraction was 865.8 ± 118.8 mg/g wet weight, and sterol esters 132.2 ± 48.7 mg/g of wet weight. It is shown that the content of sterols in the mitochondria is about 10% of their total content in this tissue.
