Abstract
Modification of plants for the purpose of using specific synthesis processes taking place in plastids is an important goal in optimizing the stability of this cell compartment under stressful influences. It can be performed either directly, through the modification of the plastid genome and the production of transplastomic plants, and indirectly using the genes introduced into nuclear genome and then providing the targeting of product of interest into plastid due to signal sequences. The tobacco plants were obtained by the method of agrobacterial and ballistic transformation. The ultrastructural organization of plastids was analyzed. Changes in the shape and location of lamellae and other subdomains of chloroplasts were revealed. It is revealed that the differences in plastids are accompanied by a change in the structural organization of other compartment compartments and have a tissue-specific character.
